Home is where the HEART is

A few weeks ago, I moved from upstate New York to Colorado. Of course, with any move to a new state comes a new place to live, and inevitably, new things to buy to fit that new space.

At the moment, I'm living at my friend's house. It's temporary, until I get a few things squared away, but even so, I still want to feel at home now.  Last night, I challenged myself to create something that would help me to feel grounded.  After wandering around Michael's for a bit, I decided that I was going to make an apron!  Well, I would buy the apron and use iron-ons to add some personality to the plain white cloth...lol!

Here are the materials all laid out:

Here is the finished product:

And here is me, happy with the time well spent being creative!

Home is where the HEART is.  Part of creating a home includes choosing the material objects that surround you.   I prefer items that have been made with passion, spirit, and genuine care.

That is why I was thrilled when BlogFrog (love them!) offered me the opportunity to tell you about the new Home Made Simple Marketplace on Facebook, a place where we can shop for handcrafted items and fabulous finds, sell our own handmade items, and get ideas for new creative projects.

The marketplace is a new initiative by Home Made Simple, a brand that believe it’s the personal touch that matters most.  Everything they do is designed to empower and inspire you to make your home even better, and most importantly, a place you love to be.

Now that is something I can get on board with.  And now you can get on board too because I get to give one of you a very cool book.  Read on to learn how to join the conversation and win.

Nesting Bests admires your creativity! Share your favorite handmade creation with us and get entered to win a 300-page hardcover copy of the book,“Home Made Simple: Fresh Ideas to Make Your Own”.
